Desktop Pictures
One C600-specific desktop was created for use as an on-screen advertisement -- mostly at tradeshows, although some resellers used it to customize the desktops of their showroom units as well. The C600 desktop is presented here in its original 832x624 resolution.

("The fastest desktop PC ever"? Yes, hard to believe Umax actually said that, but back in early 1997, the C600/240 was the first desktop computer on the market with a processor running at 240MHz. The ads grabbed attention and probably helped the C-series' cause more than they hurt it, but they got a lot of snickers internally. A full-page copy of the newsprint version that appeared in the San Jose Mercury News was taped to the kitchen door in the Umax Santa Clara offices for a few weeks before someone decided they just couldn't take it any more.)

Desktop Patterns
Although the C600 wasn't honored with a desktop pattern of its own, there are several generic SuperMac desktops which suit the system. They are available within the complete SuperMac Desktop Patterns Collection, along with about 50 other original patterns. To access, simply download and the expand the SuperMac Desktop Patterns Collection scrapbook file, and then drag any desired patterns into your Appearance control panel. (You only need to download the collection once -- there's only one collection, and it contains all 50+ patterns.)

Custom Icons
A limited set of custom C600 icons was created for everyone's use, but went largely unnoticed. Distributed as icon resource files, the initial icon you see actually contains several more, all accessible when the resource file itself is opened via ResEdit.
